Here is Sandy Mason's obituary sent to me by her sister, Linda Rundle.....

Sandra Lee Mason King DeYoung

Sandra Lee (Mason) De Young, the youngest daughter and third child of Leonard Boyd Mason and Juanita Arlene Moomey Mason, was born on November 22,1949, in Osceola in Clarke County, Iowa.  She died April 5, 1996, after waging a year-long battle with several brain tumors, at the Beverly Health Rehabilitation Center in Searcy, Arkansas. She was 46.

She spent her early years in Iowa, attending grade school in Carlisle and Indianola. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1968 and enrolled  in modeling school and modeled for about a year.

She married Raymond Earl King of Indianola on December 9, 1967, and they became the parents of two children.

She worked at several retail stores, including the Southridge Hy-Vee store in Des Moines, for about three years.

Mrs. DeYoung was a member of the West Des Moines Christian Church for 23 years, dedicating her life to the Lord in 1973.  She taught Sunday School in her church.

Mrs. DeYoung always had an artistic hand and had beautiful handwriting.  She liked to make her home inviting and comfortable for her family and friends.  She was happy when she was outdoors, fishing, camping, boating, and roughing it.  She especially enjoyed working in Alaska and having the biggest thrill of her life - catching a large salmon.

She married Robert C. DeYoung on September 5, 1992, in Des Moines.  They lived in Des Moines until Mr. DeYoung's work called them to San Antonio, Texas, and later to Little Rock, Arkansas.  They purchased their first home in Beebe, Arkansas, in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard, and her grandparents, Clell and Adrian Mason and Carl and Maude Moomey.

Mrs. DeYoung is survived by her husband, Robert C. DeYoung of Beebe; her daughter, Tami Rae King and her friend, Bradley Kennard; her son, Trevor Allan King of Des Moines; her step-daughter, Melissa Jean DeYoung, also of Des Moines; her mother, Juanita Garmond and her husband, Buzz Garman, of Grimes; one sister, Linda Rundle and her husband, Jim Rundle, of Indianola; two brothers: Roger Mason and his wife, Phyllis Mason, of Indianola, and Gary Mason of Council Bluffs; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Opal Holland, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and a host of friends.

Services for Mrs. DeYoung were on April 9 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, the Reverend John Long of Indianola officiating.  Organist Pennie Gonseth accompanied Ron Swedenberg as he sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Footprints in the Sand".

Casket bearers were Erik Methlie, Tony Methlie, Ed Green, Mike Gripp, Kevin Oehlert, and Clifford Mason.  Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetary in Osceola.
